The saudi played major role to destabilize the area and they very much succeed in Iraq but in Syria thanks to the Russian and The iranian for saving Asad regime. In the 50's and 60's they wear clearly against the idea of arab unity and nationalism and they stabbed Nasser from the back to stop his movement from spreading and this effort was accomplished when Egypt lost June war. The saudi are very smart in this dirty trick and the founding father king abdelaziz was master of divid and control game , we shall give him credit for acquiring this massive and rich country from his rival the rashed clan by such tactic. Time has change and the saudi find out that Iran is her to stay and they give up to Iran in Iraq and Syria because the American gives the saudi cold shoulder and left for the pacific to protect their interest there leaving the saudi to wonder. The question here is: why the saudi and the Gulf state after the sudden become very aware and sensitive about Egypt badly beaten Economy? The simple answer is this courapted regime felt the heat of change is near by and Egypt is the corner stone of their stability either they like it or not, thats fact in the ground. Please don't tell me the saudi are looking after Egypt interest or they are very humble about the Egyptians. We should play our cards right and never to let our guard down with any one.
